1854-FD Octagonal $1. BG-508. Rarity-4+. Liberty Head. MS-62 PL (NGC). A scarce issue and denomination that is always in high demand by collectors. The fields are wholly reflective and mirrored by the dies, while the devices are more frosty. Clean surfaces overall with traces of lines but no disturbing contact marks. The strike is reasonably sharp although the date is a trifle blunt, it is clear with a loupe. Solid for the grade and a good selection to represent this type.
