- 1788 Connecticut Copper. Miller 6-H, W-4445. Rarity-5+. Mailed Bust Right. VF-30. 112.35 grains. Perhaps finer by sharpness, with extremely fine granularity doing nothing to affect the bold sharpness and positive eye appeal. Obverse bulged in lower right obverse, an earlier state than sometimes seen. The surfaces are deep gray olive with some gloss, no bad marks, a few little nicks around reverse rim. The date is complete and sharp, and all legends but INDE are as bold as can be. Far sharper than the Tanenbaum coin, graded Good-6, which sold for $288. A distinctive and rare variety, one that is rarely found this fine. PCGS# 397.
