- 1858 Pattern Indian Cent. Judd-208, Pollock-259. Rarity-1. MS-62 (PCGS). The obverse design is the same that the Mint used to strike regular issue Indian Cents from 1860 through early 1864 (i.e., the point of Liberty's bust is rounded). The date 1858 is centered in the field between the bottom of the portrait and the denticles. The reverse exhibits the denomination ONE CENT within a laurel wreath having clusters of five leaves. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge.<br /> A sharply impressed, semi-prooflike example with lovely tannish-rose color. The eye appeal is superior for the assigned grade, and there are only small, wispy abrasions precluding a Choice grade.
