THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION A CHERRY example of this popular, low mintage date. Choice fields are toned in wisps of peach and gold mostly around the periphery. The design elements look chiseled from granite and are enhanced by thick swaths of frost. Under careful inspection there is a small lint mark (as made) in the right obverse field and a toning spot between the 5 and 9 of the date. Claims to a higher grade, but no guarantees. One of just 800 pieces coined. Old green label holder. PCGS 42, NGC 28, CAC 7. From a mintage of just 800 pieces. PCGS Price Guide value is $3,000 but CAC graded examples are fetching significantly higher prices based on past auction records. There have not been any CAC PCGS examples that have traded in the past several years. The last example sold in January 2016 for $3,290.
