详细说明: 1914/3-S Buffalo Nickel. FS-014.89. MS-64 (NGC). One of the rare overdate issues of more recent discovery, the crossbar of the 3 is visible at the top of the 4, best seen with a loupe. The colorful toning includes traces of iridescence with a mix of yellow-gold and mint-fresh luster. Rather well struck too for this early branch mint, the horn and head of the bison are sharp, and there is a thick die crack from the rim to the beast's head, diagnostic to this issue. Clean surfaces and impressive quality. David Lange, in his reference work on Buffalo Nickels noted NGC had graded 11 of this date in circulated grades and just 5 in Mint State, this tally from the year 2000. No further population data is available on NGC's <em>Census</em> as this variety is not currently differentiated from the regular 1914-S issue. Undoubtedly rare this nice and likely one of the very finest known of this overdate.
