The 20-S nickel is a considerable condition rarity in GEM, grades, making us believe that the Population data in MS64 is inflated by resubmissions. This is a marvelous and high end example of the date and grade. Vibrantly lustrous surfaces gleam under a wonderful mix of pastel rose, peach, and orange-gold toning. The satiny sheen really catches the light, accents the colors, and captivates the eye. Well struck over all, there is only some very light softness on the bison's haunches. The surfaces are exceptionally clean for the assigned grade and we know in the old days, before third party grading, this coin would have been graded a GEM. The eye appeal is all there and then some! PCGS 237, NGC 208, CAC 20. The last CAC-approved example sold nearly two years ago; more recently a non-CAC approved PCGS coin sold for $4,320 in August 2022. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,250. Any MS65 example is going to approach or enter into the five figure range; we sold a CAC-approved MS65 for $16,450 in September 2021. This one belongs in a sensational set! Good luck. Cert. Number 45917478 PCGS # 3946
