- GREAT BRITAIN. Victoria Coronation Silver Medal, 1838. London Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-62 Gold Shield. BHM-1801; Eimer-1315. Diameter: 36mm. By B. Pistrucci. Obverse: Draped bust left, wearing bandeau; Reverse: Victoria seated left on throne, holding scepter and orb, and receiving crown from Britannia, Hibernia, and Scotia standing to left; to far right, lion is seated facing, with fore paw resting upon thunderbolt. An increasingly popular type, this coronation issue features a deep tone dominated by violet and also offers intense underlying brilliance. Estimate: $700 - $1,000.
