- TOBAGO. Tobago - French Guiana (Cayenne). Stampee (2-1/4 Pence), ND (1798). PCGS EF-40. cf. KM-6; cf. Prid-4. Issued by local act of 5 November 1798. "oTB" countermark on a 1789 French Guiana 2 Sous. The countermark is boldly applied on a moderately worn host with much remaining details and smooth surfaces that display rich chocolate brown patina. It is interesting to note that the annulet is above the "TB" instead of being below. This would seem to indicate that this example was initially rated as a Black Dogg (Three Half-Pence) rather than a Stampee (2-1/4 Pence). Estimate: $150 - $250.
