- Ex Rob Retz Family Collection, as noted on the insert. A major rarity in the Fugio series, the Newman 2-C, W-6630 is a Rarity-6 variety that according to the census put together by the late Rob Retz, only 22 examples were enumerated. Identified by the misspelling of FUGIO as FUCIO, this variety is important for anyone working on a "Red Book" set of this important Confederation era series, the first series of copper coins struck under authority of Congress for circulation. All Concave End Club Rays varieties are VERY RARE and this one happens to be one of the more "collectible" examples. The surfaces are well worn. There is some light, scattered granularity in the surfaces, but not serious enough to preclude grading by PCGS. Overall, the look of this coin is considered very nice for the grade and variety, one that rarely comes so, regardless of the technical or details grade. There is a tiny mark at the lower obverse. This is a VERY RARE example that is missing from many collections of Fugio cents. PCGS 1, NGC 0. This coin has been off the market for a decade. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,000. Other FUCIO examples to have sold more recently include the Fricke VF20 at $11,700 in November 2021. This is an important opportunity that cannot be missed! Good luck. Cert. Number 46963497 PCGS # 910
