THE LARRY SHAPIRO 3CS COLLECTION An incredible example! An unquestionably high end GEM that borders on the SUPERB category. One of the FINEST graded examples. Only 3,000 three cent silvers were struck for circulation, and there are just three that have graded finer than this coin at PCGS. The fields are distinctly semi-Prooflike with a bold reflection in the obverse. Both sides display a wonderful mix of deeper tones, a natural blend of slate, olive, and russet that is brought out by a lively underlying luster. This is NOT a dull or drab coin. Sharply struck, every details is crisp and fully rendered. The eye appeal is strong. PCGS 9, NGC 4, CAC 5. There are just two graded MS66+ and there are just three finer. The PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $10,000. A PCGS/CAC sold in our December 2018 Regency Auction for $6,875 and we sold a MS67 CAC for $27,025 in January 2018.
