详细说明: 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Nelson-11, W-13960. Rarity-4. P Below Bust. AU-55 BN (NGC). 138.8 grains. We note an exceptional amount of sharp striking detail on both sides of this impressive piece, so much, in fact, as to evoke thoughts of a Mint State grade. The strike is ideally centered on the obverse with nearly full border denticulation to that side. The reverse is only marginally less well centered with the letters ERNI in HIBERNIA tight to the upper border. The all important P is crisp and clear, including its prominent doubling, and there is nearly complete definition to the effigy's hair. While there are no significant marks, the surfaces are somewhat subdued by deep charcoal-copper patina, both sides also with a few tiny speckles of ancient verdigris that we mention solely for accuracy. This variety is one of the more well designed and handsome Voce Populi halfpenny die marriages, and it is rarely offered with the razor sharp detail seen here.
