- RUSSIA. Jeton. Bronze Novodel, 1791. Catherine II (the Great) (1762-96). PCGS SP-63 BN. Bit-1399(R1); Diakov-225.9. The only specimen striking seen at PCGS. Crowned cipher of Catherine II within laurel wreath; Reverse: Four line legend. Commemorative jeton struck for the defeat of Turkey in the Russo-Turkish War. Traces of original red mint luster seen throughout, with a great strike consistent with it being a novadel. A very elusive type in this CHOICE SPECIMEN STATE. Estimate: $400 - $600. PCGS #600382.
