- Like many early Jefferson nickels, the 1953 is notorious for its pancake like strike, as such any Full Step GEM is a real prize for the advanced collector. This one is among the FINEST graded with the FS designation. A bold luster glows on both sides that accents the delicate dusting of clear gold. The surfaces really sparkle in the light. There are no major marks or blemishes of any kind worthy of mention. PCGS 7, NGC 1. The current PCGS Price is $2,050 and the most recent to sell brought $1,528 in January 2016.
