- 1877 Indian Cent. Proof-66 RB (NGC). The obverse is mostly red with just slight fading to golden-rose while the reverse shows pleasing light tan to blue, with ample red remaining on that side. Boldly executed by the dies for this key date and scarce Proof issue. There are detracting spots or carbon problems, and the visual appeal is high for the grade assigned. As so few of these survived as business strikes, these Proofs have been avidly collected in order to meet demand for the key date 1877 Indian cent. PCGS# 2319.
