- 1838 Seated Liberty Dime. No Drapery. Small Stars. MS-65 (PCGS). CAC. Satiny with strong luster throughout and the strike is sharp. Toned with a dusting of light yellow-gold spanning both the obverse and reverse. The small stars variety was issued in tiny numbers of 30,000 pieces, and gems of this issue are as nice as these have been found. To date a total of 8 have been certified at this level by PCGS, with none seen finer. A stunning and exceptional offering. The reverse die has significant doubling particularly on STATES and the wreath bow and stems, also on the base of D(IME) as a result of the hubbing process which induced these features.
