- 1852 Round 50 Cents. BG-427. Rarity-6-. Liberty Head. AU-58 (PCGS). Beautiful satin to modestly semi-reflective surfaces are enhanced by vivid orange-honey color. BG-427 is attributed to Antoine Louis Nouizillet. This variety, along with BG-426, are believed to be early imitations of the earliest California small denomination gold issues produced by Joseph Bros. Elusive and eagerly sought for its historical significance. BG Die State I, with engraver's guide lines still evident arcing through the obverse field. Provenance: From the Oregon Collection.
