- O-102. Either tied for FINEST or is second finest for the variety. Crossed over from an NGC MS66, at the time it was auctioned in 2015, it was cataloged as being "tied for the top spot in the Condition Census." Offering a powerful, satin frost on both sides that embolden a lovely blue and rose iridescence that accents the smooth, defect free, GEM quality surfaces. Generally well struck devices show only a touch of very minor softness on the reverse. The eye appeal really is very nice! PCGS 13, NGC 6. Only 3 are graded MS65+. When our consignor purchased this GEM in February 2015, as an NGC MS66, he paid $11,817. In MS65+ the current Collector's Universe value is $13,500 and none have sold in auction. A PCGS MS65 sold in April 2017 for $6,463 and one of only two MS66s graded finer, the former Pittman coin, sold for $16,450 in the February 2016 Pogue auction.
