- 1702 American Treasure Captured at Vigo Bay Medal. Betts-97. Silver, 37.1 mm. AU-55 (PCGS). 280.8 grains. The official English medal struck to commemorate one of the signal naval victories of Queen Anne’s reign. Attractive pewter gray with olive and pastel blue toning highlights. Surfaces are mostly sedately glossy, but some luster persists at the peripheries. Well detailed, very attractive, and free of major distractions.
