CHINA. Peking. Fantasy 10 Cash Struck in Copper, (1900). PCGS MS-63 BN Secure Holder. CCC-772; W1340 (PAp-P1p); Hsu-422. If this is a fantasy, it is an old one, as it is mentioned in Woodward, wherein he notes (p. 149), "A neat coin ostensibly having been made for circulation in Peking, but which, after a few trial pieces had been minted, was discarded as unsuitable, because the fact was undoubtedly recognized that had the principle of a coin for a city been given effect, all the cities in China would have claimed the same privilege. Let us be thankful that the piece was not approved." Sharply struck with excellent definition of the fine details. Handsome chocolate brown throughout. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000. Tracey Woodward的著述The Minted Ten-Cash Coins of China 中（原書中文印製譯名《中國鑄造十文銀幣》有刊誤，《中國鑄造十文銅幣》更為妥當），他認為此枚錢幣即便是臆造幣，也是一枚老臆造幣。作者還稱："這枚精美製錢本應在北京地區發行流通，但在鑄造了幾版試樣後被認為不合使用。得出這一推論的原因是，設若某個城市的新幣樣獲批准發行，其他城市定會爭相效仿。這枚錢幣未通過發行審核，實屬藏家之幸(p. 149)。"鑄打深峻，細節明晰，通體呈現醇美的巧克力色。
