- FROM THE SEATTLE COLLECTION Tied for FINEST graded example of this Rarity-6 pattern Liberty Head nickel at NGC. Longacre's Coronet Head of Liberty design, similar to that on the three cent nickel is feature on the obverse, while the reverse has a large V and CENTS in the wreath. The V is in retrograde, with the thick arm on the right, rather than the left. Struck on a 100% copper planchet. This is a highly reflective, sublime quality GEM. The hard copper fields are smooth and free of any distracting lines. A lovely iridescent blue overtone mingles with coppery brown hues below. Sharply struck up, the eye appeal is unaffected by the few microflecks we see with a strong glass. PCGS 0, NGC 2. The most recent NGC PR66 BN sold in January 2006, bringing $3,220. More recently we sold an NGC PR65 BN for $2,820 in our May 2018 sale of the Steven Cook Collection. Unpriced in the Collectors Universe Price Guide in 66 BN, in 65 BN the value is $3,500. This one should bring about that. Cert. Number 800107-001 PCGS # 61310.00
