- A frosty lustrous Mint State example. Swirling cartwheels highlight some pale golden iridescent tone. The devices are generally well struck up with complete definition on both sides. Perhaps dipped ages ago, there is some darker toning on the reverse by the eagle's neck and head, and there is a short scratch on the lower reverse that limits the grade. The later die state has a crack at the top of UNITED and the letters on the reverse are all drawn to the edge. PCGS 12, NGC 29. It's been a decade since the last NGC graded MS61 sold in auction. More recently we sold a PCGS MS61 from the Hunter Collection for $3,290 in June 2019 and previous records are in the $2,115 to $2,530 range. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $3,250.
