This is tied for the FINEST graded 38-S Texas half dollar graded at PCGS and it is from one of the greatest collections of classic commemoratives ever assembled, former NFL player Gregg Bingham. One of the lower mintage commemorative half dollars, only 3,814 were struck. Absolutely perfect surfaces are free from any distractions of any kind. Purely original surfaces have a rich pearlescent, satiny sheen that sets both sides aglow with a glossy brilliance. Soft iridescent silvery color is accented by the narrowest band of reddish-orange at the lower obverse rim. The strike is very strong with all the minute details of the very busy reverse design crisply rendered to their fullest. The eye appeal is truly exceptional in every way. PCGS 7, NGC 15. This coin does not appear to be one of the Bingham coins that was sold earlier in 2022 at Great Collections. Two PCGS/CAC MS68 examples sold in earlier in 2022 at that firm realized $37,125 and $33,750. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $30,000.
