- 1739-)( Sou Marque. Besançon Mint. Vlack-278a. Rarity-8. EF-45 (PCGS). 36.2 grains. Some silvering remains to richly toned, pewter and copper-gray surfaces. Light encrustation has built up around many of the design elements, more so on the obverse, but the in hand appearance is smooth in the absence of troublesome marks. Well defined for the grade on a double clipped planchet - at 12 and 9 o'clock relative to the obverse. The digit 9 in the date is boldly repunched.
