FROM THE WOLVERINE COLLECTION. This is an old friend, a coin we had the pleasure of selling in our December 2017 Regency Sale of the Bubbabells Collection, where it was described as: "TIED for the FINEST Proof 1871 half dime at PCGS. This coin is SUPERB in every way. Extremely reflective, watery mirrored fields beam in the light, contrasting against the frosted reliefs. Both sides are very attractively toned with shades of blue and amber-gold toning that grace the flawless fields and nicely struck devices." PCGS 6, NGC 7, CAC 7. PCGS has only graded 2 in PR67+ CAM and none finer. This coin realized $4,700 in our December 2017 auction.
