FROM THE DALE FRIEND COLLECTION, PART I. Among the highest graded examples of this date, and it is not hard to see why. The surfaces are icy clean and sleek, with a bold reflection that beams from below a rich layer of toning. Both sides are awash in teals and oranges with bold gold and lilac-slate accents. There are a few light lines behind Liberty's head, well hidden by the wonderful, original toning. The eye appeal is quite pleasing and this date is VERY RARE finer. Only 792 Proofs were struck. PCGS 11, NGC 17. How is this for RARE? None have sold since the 2007 ANA auction!!! The current PCGS Price Guide value is $5,750.
