A low mintage date, only 10,000 quarters were struck for circulation in 1888. This is a very pretty example, which certainly sat for a long time in a collection where it was able to take on the lovely toning that is deeper at the peripheries and fades to champagne dusted silver in the centers. GEM quality surfaces show no serious marks or ticks and the devices are sharply struck adding to the very nice eye appeal. PCGS 5, NGC 3. This coin sold in our September 2018 Regency Auction for $1,586 and the current Collectors Universe value is listed at $2,250. RARE finer, an important coin for the collector. Cert.
