Not only is this coin of the highest quality; both technical and visual, it is among the FINEST GRADED of the entire Capped Bust dime series! It is almost impossible to think of where this coin was so lovingly placed and left, totally unbothered over the last 182 years that it could survive in this PRISTINE, lofty grade! A SUPERB rolling luster has vivid, smooth cartwheels that are totally uninterrupted when this coin is twirled in a light. The fields possess a bold satiny frost that is completely without flaw. There are zero breaks to the frost. The devices are incredibly sharp, from a precision strike from the JR-3 die combination. Both sides display a wonderful pastel iridescent toning. Shades of baby blue, clear gold, and rose come to life in a light. What a wonderful, old collection type of toning! PCGS 2, NGC 1, CAC 1. This is the only MS67+ graded. For the entire Capped bust dime series, from 1809 to 1838, there are only four MS67+s graded, with a mere two MS68s graded finer.
