- M. Diatom Collection. Certainly not a rare date as a "no motto" type, the 1861 likely gathers in popularity as a Civil War issue. Prodigious luster suggests a modestly better grade level than the PCGS "AU-50", and substantial sharpness remains even after supposedly ten points of wear, but viewers are cautioned to note some curious reddish residue, present above the seventh through ninth stars.
