- This is a purely original, high end, GEM Proof 1886 nickel. Soft, pastel toning is dusted over the moderately reflective, smooth, problem free surfaces. The eye appeal is nice. PCGS 137, NGC 121, CAC 61. Only 8 are graded PR66+ at PCGS, and there are auction records between $960 and $1,058. The current Collectors Universe value is $1,400. These just seem too cheap and we have been saying for a long time a set of Proof Liberty nickels would make a great project to work on. Cert. Number 25795573 PCGS # 3884
