详细说明: Lot 438 1855 N-10 R1 Italic 55 PCGS graded MS63 Red & Brown.Lustrous mint red fading to olive and steel brown with a third of the planchet showing mint color. Just a few trivial marks including a tiny struck-through line below the 8, a small spot of fine carbon on a single dentil at star 13, and some slightly darker toning at the top of AT in STATES. E-MDS, die state c, with star 6 completely missing and no more than half of star 1 still visible. The clog at star 1 covers not only that star but much of the surrounding field plus the bust nearly reaching the date and throat. Many of the early die lines on the reverse are still visible, but they are faint. Another interesting die state in this progression. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#4 of die state c in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
