- 1969 United States Assay Commission Medal. By Frank Gasparro and Phillip Fowler. JK AC-113. Rarity-5. Bronze. MS-65 (NGC). 57 mm. Beautiful antique golden-brown surfaces are smooth and problem free. Satiny in finish and a delight to behold. A right-facing portrait of Richard Nixon, taken from a Presidential medal, is featured on the obverse, while the reverse features the new Philadelphia Mint using a perspective resembling that used on the 1967 medal. After only the popular JK AC-121 - 1977, Martha Washington portrait - the 1969 is the most frequently seen of the late date issues in this U.S. Mint medal series.
