1875 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-64+ (NGC). A short, sharp die scratch (as made) over the left (facing) shield outline confirms that this coin is one of those proof 1875 quarters struck from the reverse die that the Mint first used to produce proofs in 1872. And struck this coin is, both sides with razor sharp definition to even the finest elements of the design. Lovely toning in cobalt blue, medium rose and golden-silver iridescence moves from the rims to the centers in a target-like fashion, through which a nicely mirrored finish shines forth powerfully as the coin rotates under a light. An enticing specimen that is oh so close to a full Gem rating.
