JAPAN. Yen, Year 20 (1887). Osaka Mint. Mutsuhito (Meiji). PCGS MS-62. KM-Y-A25.3; JNDA 01-10A; JC-09-10-2. Small Diameter (38.1mm) size. Also existing in the large size planchet, 1887 represents a changeover in the yen, with the present piece belonging to what would continue in the years to follow. Highly argent and lustrous, with just a spot of deeper iridescence on the reverse near the edge. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.
