- Impressive Mint State Oban JAPAN. Oban (10 Ryo), ND Kyoho Era (ca. 1725-1837). PCGS MS-62. Fr-5; KM-C-24.1; JNDA-09-8 (4A); JC-02-8. Mintage: 8,515. Tremendously alluring and engaging, this large gold issue from the later stages of feudal Japan offers wonderfully problem-free surfaces and a great deal of minty brilliance remaining throughout--a fairly RAREfeat given its size. The inking on the obverse, though starting to fade in a few spots, remains original as well, making this impressive survivor an absolute must for the advanced collector of Japanese coins, world gold issues more broadly, or emissions that emanate from the more odd and curious vein of numismatics.
