- CHINA. Szechuan-Tibet. Rupee, ND (1939-42). Kangding Mint. PCGS MS-62. L&M-359B; K-589; KM-Y-3.3; WS-0763B-1. Variety with collar, vertical rosette, floral pony tail, and large head. Rather elusive this nice, the present example yields a soft steely luster and charmingly unhandled surfaces. Some as made roughness is noted, though an incredible example when considering the problem free nature and soft luster that still wafts from this Rupee. Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000.
