详细说明: 1859 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-238, Pollock-294. Rarity-5. Proof-65 RB (NGC). OH. Nearly full Red in color on the obverse with scarcely any fading in the mint color but there are some minute traces of carbon when a strong loupe is employed for study. The reverse color has faded to a more golden tan. The surfaces are clean otherwise, with golden-red color on the obverse and reverse. Fully struck and appealing for this impressive issue. The obverse depicts a bust of Liberty facing right, with an oak and ivy wreath on her head, below is a ribbon inscribed LIBERTY with the date below and the name of our country surrounding. On the reverse an open wreath of several crops is presented, with HALF DOLLAR at the center, this design has been attributed to Anthony Paquet. Struck in copper with a reeded edge.
