THE PERFECTION COLLECTION OF CAPPED BUST QUARTERS
Well ensconced within the Rea-Koenings-Haroutunian and Tompkins Condition Censuses, this MS64 is wholly original and on the cusp of GEM quality. Indeed all that holds this 1833 B-1 from a higher grade are a few old, hidden scratches at the right of the date between the 3 and star 13; in the field above that star; and in the hair curls below the ear. These are well toned over with the surfaces adorned with slate and olive patina that highlights the pewter-dove toning. The surfaces are satiny with a frosty sheen. The devices are generally well struck with just a hint of bluntness in the highest portions of the dies. The eye appeal is quite pleasing overall.
PCGS 5, NGC 15, CAC 4. The last PCGS MS64 CAC sold back in May 2015 for $15,275. The PCGS Price Guide value is $10,000 and the CAC CPG value is $10,500. Just five are graded higher at PCGS. This coin is an important opportunity for the collector as they do not appear in auction with frequency. Don't let this opportunity pass you by!
