- 1788 Machin's Mills Halfpenny. Vlack 23-88A, W-8100. Rarity-2. GEORGIVS III, Group III--Obverse Brockage--VG-10 (PCGS). 96.8 grains. A really neat piece, the first full brockage strike we can recall seeing on any variety of Machin's Mills halfpenny. The brockage was fairly well impressed and displays nicely for the grade. The retrograde legends are almost fully visible and much of the fine detail within George's bust is present as well. Lightly granular dark brown surfaces shows no serious marks and are certainly decent for the grade. A significant offering for Machin's Mills specialists and brockage error enthusiasts alike.
