- 1722/1-H French Colonies Sou, or 9 Deniers. La Rochelle Mint. W-11835. VF-25. 81.7 grains. Glossy olive brown with light brown legends and devices. Planchet somewhat granular and striated on obverse, as struck, less so on reverse. Invisibly dented at central reverse causing a slight scyphate effect. Obverse rim nick at 1 o'clock, short scrape left of reverse crown. Very sharp, reverse fairly well centered though legends are soft at 6 o'clock and 11 o'clock. Craige called this die pair 14-N.
