KM-E5. Mintage: 1,900. A couple of minor unobtrusive spots on the reverse mentioned for accuracy otherwise. Boldly struck with fully reflective fields and original mint bloom, nearly flawless and attractive.
Lasting for almost three years, the Central African Empire was formed after Jean-Bedel Bokassa declared himself Emperor of the former Central African Republic on December 4, 1976. A dictator in reality, he was known for his savage policies which included the execution of children. On September 20, 1979, with the help of French military, he was deposed and went into exile in France. Years later, he was finally put on trial and convicted of murder and other crimes.
Estimate: $70 - $100.
