- Stunning 8 Reales Gem from Culiacan MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1866-C CE. Culiacan Mint. NGC MS-65. KM-377.3; DP-Cn23. Six pointed star/repunched 6's variety. One of a group of five 1866-dated 8 reales which we are offering in this sale, the present piece yields a pleasing steel gray tone and a golden hue near the peripheries. Some typical as-made light porosity is noted on the planchet, but this in no way distracts from its inherit allure. Likely one of the finest known, if not thefinest known. Estimate: $5,000 - $6,000.
