详细说明: FROM THE SEATTLE COLLECTION This is an absolutely amazing GEM example of this very challenging issue. The 1872 2 cent piece was the final year struck for circulation, and only 65,000 were produced. Most did not retain their mint red coloration, and any RED is a major condition rarity. The presently offered coin clearly ranks among the finest without even looking at the Population Report; a fact that is confirmed by the PCGS Population figures, only 2 are graded MS65+ RD and four are finer, all MS66 RD. Incredible, brilliant RED mint luster rolls vividly on both sides of this exceptionally high end coin. The obverse boasts a hint of semi -reflectivity that accents the wonderfully smooth, clean, radiant surfaces. Every detail is sharply struck, crisply rendered by a precision blow from the dies. Even with a strong glass we are hard pressed to find a single mark, fleck, or line of any consequence. The eye appeal is simply stunning in every way! PCGS 9, NGC 1, CAC 3. There are two graded MS65+ RD, and this one sold for $36,719 in January 2013. More recently an NGC MS65 RD CAC (not +) sold for $40,800 in February 2019.
