CHINA. Inner Mongolia. Meng Chiang. Chiao (10 Cents), Year 738 (1943). PCGS AU-55 Gold Shield. KM-Pn3. Struck in aluminum, VERY RARE and historically significant. Commonly mislabeled as a pattern. Uses the Kublai Khan dating system. This is in fact a currency issue struck in Japan for use in occupied Inner Mongolia. Due to maritime transportation problems during World War II, the shipment containing the majority of this mintage never arrived. It is believed the ship carrying nearly the entire mintage was torpedoed by submarines. Since the cargo was lost, very few examples of this issue have survived. Good strike with just a light veneer of tone. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500. Click here for certification details from PCGS. 成紀七三八年蒙疆銀行壹角。 鋁製，極罕，富有重大歷史意義。常被誤認為樣幣，實為日治内蒙古的流通貨幣，日本本土製造。由於二戰期間航海運輸阻礙重重，大部分載有此幣的船隻不曾抵達中國。據傳，此枚錢幣量產後，大部分均載於同一艘船上運往中國，中途被魚雷擊沉。由此，該系列貨幣留存下來的極為稀少。鑄打精深，僅有一絲包漿。
