详细说明: THE BIG CYPRESS COLLECTION A wonderful "GEM" AU58 example of this important and coveted Civil War era $3 gold piece. Only 5,750 examples were struck for circulation, and most are in the XF and AU range; Mint State examples are quite scarce indeed! This example is wholly original with excellent copper-gold coloration and bold mint luster. As you rotate this beauty in the light, a faint olive iridescent patina. There are a few microscopic traces of contact and the faintest trace of friction are all that keep this piece from a full Mint State grade. The eye appeal is incredible. PCGS 31, NGC 53, CAC 12. This is the most recent example to sell in auction, which wowed the collecting world when it sold for $16,800 in the 2022 ANA auction; that was the first example to sell in over a decade!
