1885 Liberty Head Nickel. MS-65 (NGC). OH. This is a bold and beautiful Gem with exceptionally full striking detail in a circulation strike nickel five-cent piece of this design type. Richly toned in mottled mauve-gray, reddish-apricot and antique gold, as well, this satiny and smooth example would serve as a highlight in any advanced collection. With a mintage of 1,472,700 pieces and little contemporary interest in saving circulation strikes of this type, the 1885 is the key issue in the Liberty Head nickel series.
