- 1885 Liberty Head Nickel. Proof-68 (NGC). Lightly and attractively toned in iridescent pale lilac and golden-rose, this is a simply outstanding survivor from a mintage of 3,790 Proofs. Fully struck in virtually all areas with serene surfaces that border on pristine. Given that the 1885 is the rarest circulation strike in the Liberty Head nickel series, this condition rarity from the year's Proof issue offers an exciting alternative for the high quality date collector.
