- CHINA. Hupeh. 20 Cash, ND (ca. 1914). PCGS VF-35 Secure Holder. KM-A405; Duan-2277(2011 edition); CL-Unlisted; CCC-Unlisted. Struck in copper. EXTREMELY RAREwith few examples known. According to the Krause book, the attribution of this piece to Hupeh is uncertain. It was likely struck in Szechuan for use in Hupeh. However, according to Duan these were issued as substitute currency. Very interesting and deserving of further in depth research. Far nicer than the example that we sold in out August 2017 Hong Kong auction, Lot # 60243 which was quite worn. Good strike with moderate signs of circulation and deep patina. Click here for certification details from PCGS. 民國三年湖北省造通用銅幣當錢二十文。 銅製。極罕，存世僅有幾枚。Krause認為此款很可能於四川鑄造，但於湖北流通。段洪剛譜認為此幣作替換貨幣之用。有趣，值得深究。比起我們於2017年8月份拍賣中所拍的60243號拍品更為漂亮。鑄打深峻，流通痕跡均勻，深色包漿。
