- 1823 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-105. Rarity-1. MS-64 (PCGS). Pearlescent golden hues dominate the centers while vibrant pastels of tangerine and sea-green color accent the borders. The luster is flashy and satiny in the fields, framing more frosty texture on the devices. Sharply struck and free of any significant imperfections. Delightful to examine in direct lighting. This near-Gem is an important Condition Census specimen that sits tied for CC#3 on Herrman's Autumn 2020 revision behind a pair of MS-65 examples including the Eliasberg specimen.
