- 1883 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-65 (NGC). A Gem example of the 1883 date with some modest frost on the devices and boldly mirrored fields offsetting them. The surfaces are bright and untoned overall. Free of all but the faintest handling lines and a stellar example from the mintage of 1,039 pieces in Proof, and another 8,000 circulation strikes during this period of extremely limited production of minor coinage while all efforts went to coin Morgan dollars.
