This is a very high grade example, a very difficult date to find in such a well struck, lofty state of preservation. A brilliant satiny luster blooms all over the steely-nickel silver surfaces. The obverse die broke, and there is an interesting die crack across Jefferson's cheek. The details are sharply impressed, accented by a delicate dusting of iridescent gold. The eye appeal is quite nice, and this date is extremely rare any finer. PCGS 34, NGC 0. The most recent example in this grade to sell was the Incline Collection coin we sold in July 2020 for $1,821. Prior to that, one sold in October 2019 for $432 and another in September 2018 for $1,680. The PCGS Price Guide value is $750. Only five coins are graded finer, the last MS67 FS to sell brought $16,450 in February 2014. A lovely choice for a Registry Set. Good luck. Cert. Number 38261072 PCGS # 84043.00
